Plus Size Work Chic Photo Shoot

I partnered with Torrid to come up with some cute and trendy outfits this past July/August. Torrid has been one of my favorite places to shop for plus size clothing since I was 14-years-old. From fan-favorite graphic tees to feminine floral dresses to the working boss woman, they have a wide range of clothes that have been there for me through all my trend phases.

One of the outfits I came up with is Boss Woman on the Street.

I know at work you wouldn't wear ripped jeans, but if on the street you are trying to appeal to the younger generation while being comfortable and trendy, the ripped jeans can slide. Honestly though, this look would still be bomb with normal non-ripped skinny jeans.

This was a fun experience with Torrid, but it was all remote. I was sent clothing and I had to take my own photos. I had a few people reach out to me about how I was able to take these photos with no help, and let me say, it took a second to figure it out. As long as you have a phone with a camera, you can totally do this.

I personally do photography, so I have a camera tripod and a phone tripod so I was able to connect the two so I could get the height I needed for these photos. You can get a small phone tripod to start with taking pictures in your room here and it comes with a Bluetooth remote so you can stand away from your phone and take the pictures without having to worry about changing your angle or anything. Or you can get a camera tripod here, but it does not come with a phone attachment. That's why I recommend getting both because you can ultimately use both whenever you want! You can invest in a tall phone tripod, but I personally love my small one because I can use it in my car or on my desk at home if I don't feel like setting up my tripod.

For those of you who are local to Orange County, California, you may know where I went to take these photos. I wanted to capture the city look for these photos, but I needed to find a place where I knew I could social distance and keep myself away from large crowds so I could take these pictures without a mask. The first place that came to mind was a parking garage. Brea Mall parking garages were all closed off when I went to take photos, so I decided to head over to Downtown Brea and pull into the parking garage behind Buffalo Wild Wings (the whole time I took these photos, I was definitely craving wings). I decided to go around 6:30 pm so the sun wasn't so harsh and everything would look more golden, and boy did it help. Timing is key for all photos. I love the glow it adds to the skin and the sparkle that is added to jewelry (look at my belt and hoops! Wow!).

This photoshoot was one of my favorites and came out so amazing. I am so grateful for this opportunity Torrid presented me and I hope to team up again soon! I also have more outfits that I got to create from this campaign that I will go over in later posts. If you have any questions, always feel free to reach out!
